Summary of Interview/ Analysis of sources
I am not able to at this time yet provide a summary of my interview with the instructor I chose becasue he has been very busy but let know that he was going to get back with me this week.
So I have a few sources that I chose to use on my paper. I found an article on Purdue Owl that explains writing in Psychology. It includes the writing principles that is involved in Psychology. Also, it discusses the types of writing that is involved in this field. Another source I have is the interview I am going to have with Dr. DeMarco, he is a professor at Louisville and is going to help me find out firsthand what it takes to write papers in Psychology.

Quotation Excercise
In my English 101 class last semester I had to write an argumentative essay. My topic for that paper was Hoodie Allen, a white rapper that many people called a "frat" rapper. My goal in the essay was to argue against all the critics that thought he should be classified under that category. In the essay I quoted some of the critics that would say negative things about him and the reasons they believed he belonged under that category. Their quotes helped my paper because it showed their emotion toward this artist and it gave me a way to argue my reasons for why I felt like they were wrong. I also had a second time where I quoted the artist himself. It was helpful for me to do that because it backed up my reasons as to why he was too good of an artist to be put under such a unworthy music category.

Assignment 1
The purpose of this assignment is to be able to inform freshman about a career that they may be interested when coming into college. Also, you are able to see for yourself what you can learn about writing in your intended field. In this assignment there are some challenges that you would not have when writing other papers. Those challenges would be having to interview two different people and having to analyze two academic and then two non-academic sources. Because of the things we have to do to complete this assignment we are able to learn the reasons as to why people write the way they do in the intended field. It will teach us the correct rhetorical situations to use when our time comes to write an essay in our field.

General Narrative analysis
In English 101, I had to write a general narrative on a discourse I was passionate about so I chose track and field. The purpose of this essay was not to discuss how this specific hobby changed our lives but how it shaped the people we became and our specific relationship to it. We also had to bring up a specific experience we had with this discourse. In my paper instead of solely talking about a big race I had or something; I broke down the race itself and that race would be the 400m. I spoke about the start, the middle, and the end. At the start, you have the gun go off which determines if you’ll be successful throughout the rest of the race. Next, you have the middle, at this time it is what I call the after the gun affect. Here you have to mentally break down the race and determine your position within the other runners. Lastly, you have the end of the race where you finally get to know if that hard work actually paid off. I decided to break it down this way because I felt like it allowed a visual for the audience reading the essay. I chose this topic to discuss because it is the one thing that I know so much about. Not only facts but personal experiences that make me feel like a pro when it comes to talking about it. It was easy being able to personally envision my paper because it is something I couldn’t forget even if I tried. There was no other discourse that I could have picked that would have given me more success.
